The end of summer is coming up faster than you think. Before you know it, the school season will start, and you’ll be getting ready to take classes and start various school clubs. For many, a new school year is an exciting time, but it does present some challenges with maintaining your fitness goals. Here are some tips to help you stay active and healthy even while hitting the books.
#1 Set aside a specific time to go the gym. One good thing about school is it provides a more structured schedule to your day. Although you may not have as much time available like you did in the summer, it will be easier to stay consistent with a set time to go to the gym, take a walk, or go for a quick run.
#2 Enroll in a sport. School sports can be a great way to keep up working out and getting your body moving. It’s also a great way to establish strong friendships and get to know coaches better.
#3 Get friends or classmates to go to the gym with you. Summer makes it hard to work around your friends' schedules, but now that most students have similar school schedules, this is a great time to grab a gym buddy and work on your goals together.
#4 Bring your gym clothes to school with you. A great time to go to the gym is right after school when you still have downtime and energy to get a good workout in. You can help yourself stay motivated by bringing your gym clothes with you to school, store them in a locker or bag, and grab it as you head to your local fitness center.
