As summer approaches, the weather gets warmer and the sun gets stronger. Do you ever find yourself lacking the motivation to exercise inside because you don't want to waste the weather? This issue will only increase as the months progress. If you fall into the habit of skipping your daily activity, you will fall short of a toned summer body when June rolls around. Enjoy the weather, while still achieving your summer goals! Here are four outdoor ways to stay active on those days you just don't want to be inside.
1. Ride your bike. This is a great way to burn some calories in the sun and work your leg muscles, whether you take a leisure ride or amp up your speed and intensity to get your heart rate up. Ride solo or with some friends, engage your core, and enjoy nature!
2. Play a sport. This is one of the more intense options that will serve as a tiring workout. Gather some friends and play a group sport in a field, such as soccer, volleyball, wiffle ball or football. Even if you are alone, you can get out there and practice your skills.
3. Play lawn games. Some more active lawn games include spike ball and kan jam. These involve a lot of movement and require you to be quick on your feet. Channel your summer barbecue vibes with friends and get some friendly competition going.
4. Walk your pet. Take your pet on a hike or for a few miles around your neighborhood. Walks are a great, low-impact way to burn calories outside. They can also be meditative and therapeutic if you walk alone. Your pet will thank you, too.
Consistency and commitment to your workout schedule are some of the most crucial factors in reaching your goals.
